Hi,
There is a Oracle form that I portlatised in the portal. Now I have a text item in my form called USER which has to get the value from the portal...ie if employ1 logs in the portal, the form has to show employ1 in this text item. How can this be done?

have you looked at the sys_context facility? Search this forum for 'sys_context' or google it.
