hi
I installed oracle9i database and forms 6i.
when i connect the forms to data base it is giving error like unable to conn to destination.Then i follow the process of net 8 easy configuration.
IN that i selected the add new service (service name is oracle9i)then i select the tcp/ip protocal.inthat i have to enter hostname and portnumber.i gave port number as 1521.
what can i give for hostname.
i didnt remember what i entered at the time of db installation.
can any one help me

When you connect from form, you not use tnsmanes.ora from ${ORACLE_HOME}/network/admin, but from ${FORMS_HOME}/network/admin. Verify if your listener.ora from forms home are correct, and contain description of your connection.

You did not write here you were connecting Server or Client?

Verify that both TNSNAMES.ORA files are the same. There is one under the forms home and one under the database home. Search this forum for 'tnsnames ifile'.
