Deploying on Linux [message #177208]

I am doing a maintenance project on some forms which I upgraded from Developer 4.5 to 10g before deploying on Linux. When the forms are compiled and run on the AS the textboxes are much larger then on the DS forcing the need for horizontal and vertical scroll bars on every form.

Here is a snippet of how the screen looks on Windows:

A couple of the forms looked like this on Windows too which makes me think there is a configuration setting somewhere I haven't found that controls this. Has anyone else had this problem?

Thanks for the reply. I haven't found any solution to this yet. I can't be the only person who has developed on Windows and deployed on Linux and am a little disappointed at the lack of replies. It looks increasingly like we will have to deploy the system the way it is.

Its to do with the default fonts on the two different boxes.

I believe we had this problem but by using points instead of pixels I think we were able to stop most of the deformation. Hey, it could have been points instead of pixels. Look at what you are using and then try the other way. Also, DO NOT use 'arial' as your font, try 'helvetica' and see what effect that has on the display.

Thanks for the help David. When I switched to points it fixed the problem. Smile

For newbies reading this thread in years to come, you need to set the form property 'Co-ordinate System'.
