forms 2.1 and forms 6.i installation [message #116711]

Hello Everybody,

Please guide me the following problem.
Can I install forms 2.1 and forms 6i in the same
machine where forms 2.1 is already installed there.

when i am going to install forms 6i the path field is
showing disable.So i can not change the home directory
of forms 6i.So my doubt is if i install forms 6i then
is it overwrite forms 2.1 and the old product will not
be working.

If any of you have idea about it then pls tell me.

I think that if you install the Forms 6 in a NEW Oracle home that it should work.

Forms 2.1 is already installed in the machine.
when i am installing forms 6i the HOME path showing disable
so i am not able to change the HOME PATH.
Thats is the problem for me .

Can u try this -

Although home path is read only, the information below in 2 fields is modifiable.

Try changing the Oracle Home Name/Path to new one and proceed, it should then take up and set this as new home.

I suggest you search for it on OTN or google. It is quite complex to do in mixed environments. But why do you need to? Run the 6i from an Application Server and nothing much needs to be put on each PC.
